Ludo board setup and starting positions

Give every part of the board a clear name.

Set out the pieces

The Align It guide uses four corner bases, a cross-shaped route and a home lane for each colour. Each player begins with four tokens in the corresponding base.

An orientation exercise

Point to your base, then find the matching entry point and home lane. Ask another learner to trace the same route without moving a token.

Label your sketch

Draw a simplified board on paper. Write the colour names as well as shading the areas, so the explanation does not depend on colour alone.

Follow your actual board

Our illustration is a teaching diagram. Physical products and digital modes can use different markings. Read their instructions before using the drawing as a rule reference.
